Be Your Own Shooter.
LEED, the upcoming artist from the New York City underground, continues to impress. His entire SoundCloud is full of all hits, no misses. His recent track, ‘STEP IT UP’ is just one example of a track that shows his impressive flow and versatility. But arguably his best releases came late 2017 and earlier this year. LEED made waves in the underground when he dropped hit single ‘Regular’ and then again when he dropped the visuals for the track, which were filmed by Eli Taylor. Regular has garnered a lot plays on SoundCloud and is one of his most notable tracks.
He then quickly followed up with another fan favorite just a month later. He released ‘DEMONS’, showing us his alter ego and channeling his own inner-demons. The bass-heavy beat is perfectly complimented by LEED’s low, dark raps, making a track that you will literally have on replay.
His biggest inspirations when it comes to his music and style are Cam’Ron, A$AP Rocky, Ski Mask The Slump God, and XXXTENTACION. “The commonality between all of these people are that they all showed the world that it’s okay to be yourself and keep it G,” said LEED. The artist out of Harlem continued, “Theres now hundreds of thousands of people out here not afraid to dress however they want, or expand their musical horizons because of these people. I hope to influence others in the same way one day.”
LEED is on the way to making the impact that he desires to make, as he is making his presence felt in the New York Underground scene, performing twice recently. LEED called these performances career defining, especially when he performed at a recent VFILES: ‘Pass The Aux’ event. He commented, “Performing at the VFILEs event felt special to me. Almost like a monument for the start of my Career. I felt like I was finally being officially recognized as one of the upcoming artists in New York City.” LEED’s statements are definitely modest as he has continued to release great work over the past year.
LEED recently took to Instagram on December 3rd to announce his Debut EP ‘What’s Done is Done.’ The EP is set to be released on January 15th on all streaming services. When asked about the upcoming project, LEED said that it will likely be a short project, about 4 tracks. In addition to this, he reported “Each song will represent a different side of me that I like to exert into my music,” essentially four moods.
